Series: Curse of Kin #1
Author: Ari Harper
Genre: Adult Contemporary
Nera is a normal teenage girl living in Ireland-or so she thought. Her world is forever changed when she discovers that she is descended from a long line of witches. To her horror she finds she is the one that is supposed to stop the curse that has taken the life of every girl before her. As if that isn’t enough, she must learn to use magic and her trainer is a man named Bones. He is the son of Mari, Queen of the Witches, and a god. It is Bones that has been entrusted to teach her the skills she needs to stay alive, which wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t have an uncanny knack for pushing her buttons. Can Nera learn what she needs while staying immune to the charms of the man that gets under her skin at every opportunity?
What I Thought
This book caught my attention right away. I love books that have a mythological type story (even if it isn’t one based on true ancient stories, and since I’m not up on my Irish stories, I’m not sure about this one!) Anyway… I started reading this one and was hooked from the get go!
Nera finds out pretty early on in the book that she isn’t who she thought she was, and she begins training to defeat Edrith. I really liked the characters that Ari Harper created, both Nera and Bones. And boy did the sparks fly between Nera and Bones! Anyway, the story is pretty fast moving, it is a pretty easy read.
I did feel that there were quite a few moments that parts were left out or could have been expanded just a little bit more.
Overall a great story with a paranormal twist.

summary from goodreads:
Can true love be built on lies? A teen on the run seeks relief and redemption in this gripping, romantic read.Leah Kurtz has finally found a place to call home, a town where she and baby Addy can live in peace, far from the drug-infested place she grew up. Chris is one of the best parts of her new life, the only person who’s ever made her feel safe. And now that she’s found him, there’s no way she can tell the truth:
Her real name is Faith, not Leah. She’s seventeen, not nineteen. And the baby isn’t hers—Faith kidnapped her.
Faith’s history catches up with her when a cop starts asking questions and Chris’s aunt spots her picture in the newspaper. She knows it’s time to run again, but if Faith leaves, she’ll lose Chris. If Chris is in love with a lie, though, did Faith ever really have him in the first place?
