An Update on Me….

So, if you come to my blog, you will see it has been a little while since I last posted. Yeah, it has been kind of crazy around my house lately!

See, back in early February I applied for a job that I really wanted and a few days later I got a call for an interview and then a few days later I got a call that I got the job. A week later I started training! So what am I doing? I live in Virginia, in the heart of early American History, so I work at one of the local living history centers! I lead tour groups through one of the living history centers and talk about Jamestown as the English would have found it when they came over.  The best part is that it works great with my kids schedule! However training kind of through us all into a crazy schedule as it was kind of unexpected! So we were working on that, and there was a LOT of reading to go along with the training, which meant that my ‘for fun’ reading kind of got put on hold.

Plus, all my running of the kids, and gymnastics meets and all the other crazy stuff my kiddos do, well, yeah, that stuff didn’t slow down, so, I had to kick that into a higher gear.  Let’s just say my house looked like a bomb went off as I tried to get my schedule down. The good news is that my training is over! Yeah! and I am settling into a schedule and beginning to get my feet under me leading kids on tours!

So, you should begin to see more regular updated posts from me back here!  I apologize for the break, but I am beginning to catch up on my break. I did do some reading during my time off and I can’t wait to tell you about the books that I read! I had some amazing find during my time off!

It is so great to be back!

THE STORY

For Macallan and Levi, it was friends at first sight. Everyone says guys and girls can’t be just friends, but these two are. They hang out after school, share tons of inside jokes, their families are super close, and Levi even starts dating one of Macallan’s friends. They are platonic and happy that way.

Eventually they realize they’re best friends — which wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t keep getting in each other’s way. Guys won’t ask Macallan out because they think she’s with Levi, and Levi spends too much time joking around with Macallan, and maybe not enough time with his date. They can’t help but wonder . . . are they more than friends or are they better off without making it even more complicated?

From romantic comedy superstar Elizabeth Eulberg comes a fresh, fun examination of a question for the ages: Can guys and girls ever really be just friends? Or are they always one fight away from not speaking again — and one kiss away from true love?

WHAT I THOUGHT

So, while I haven’t been posting, I HAVE been reading, and crazy enough I HAVE been reading a lot of Elizabeth Eulberg. She is fast becoming one of my favorite authors.  I have, this year, read THREE (yes THREE!!!) of her books! And her books are nothing short of AWESOME!

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Better Off Friends, cause, well, you may have read my story, but, my husband and I started out as friends, and are still going strong 15 years later, after dating for 5.  So folks, good things come from being friends.  And you know what? I was right.  This story was SO, SO, SO GOOD! Which is probably why I have overused the capitalization.

See Macallan and Levi meet in middle school and everyone thinks they are a couple.  I mean how could they not be? They are together all the time. They finish each others sentences, they are best friends and just are always there for each other.
